The DSM criteria for psychiatric conditions seem so out of touch, which is one of the reasons I believe it's difficult to diagnose yourself.
I wonder, are they out of touch or do I rationalise everything? Have they asked an autistic person the reason for their behaviour?
One of the 'nah, I can't be autistic' symptoms is "apparently inflexible adherence to specific,
nonfunctional routines or rituals" because I cannot think of any non functional routine in my life, infexible or not. I guess they removed the word nonfunctional from the DSM 5 for a reaosn.
Inflexible routines
How I can stay on top of things is to plan things in advance and then 'run the script'.
